The U.S. President Barack Obama has signed the Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment HIRE Act. The Act includes tax incentives for hiring and retaining unemployed workers, and other tax expenditure items. As revenue offset measures, the Act includes provisions similar to those in the proposed Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act FATCA, introduced in the U.S. House and Senate in November 2009.
