The Dutch government has indicated that it intends to introduce a bank levy i.e., a tax similar to one that has been implemented in the UK. Based on statements made by government officials, it is expected that a bill introducing a bank tax would be published in the fourth quarter of 2011, with the legislation probably being introduced in 2012.
