Here are some important dates in the United Kingdom holiday calendar.Remember that public holidays are slightly different in Scotland compared to England and Wales. Northern Ireland has the same eight public holidays as England and Wales plus two more: St Patrick's Day and the Anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne in 1690.
